Italian right slams left over school procurement vote and perceived pro‑Russia stance

Lega provincial councilor Jacopo Ruggia in Liguria denounced the left's abstention on a measure establishing a single procurement agency for schools, arguing the proposal would cut municipalities' technical expenses by up to €30,000. He highlighted the centre‑right's €16 million school‑building programme and the completion of several major renovation projects, accusing the opposition of political incoherence.

A separate commentary claimed that the principal threat to Europe comes from the Italian left, alleging that party leaders such as Mario Conte, Roberto Fratoianni and Goffredo Bettini express pro‑Russia sentiment, defend Vladimir Putin and undermine a strong, Atlantic‑oriented European stance. The piece argues that left‑wing criticism of the EU is conflated with support for the Kremlin.
