Italian road safety initiatives engage students in Legnago and Vibonese
Educational initiatives focused on road safety have been launched for students in different regions of Italy. In Legnago, the “Ragazzi on the road” project allowed approximately thirty high school students to shadow the State Police. Participants observed traffic police operations, including monitoring highways, managing accident investigations, and participating in checkpoints. The program aims to increase awareness of road risks and foster closer ties between young people and law enforcement institutions.
In the Vibonese region, specifically in Brognaturo, an initiative led by Anas and Gruppo FS Italiane provided training to 240 students. The participants were named “Road Safety Ambassadors” to encourage responsible driving behaviors. The program included practical demonstrations, such as the use of drones for inspecting bridges and viaducts along the A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo, to highlight the technology used in infrastructure monitoring.
