Italian seniors boost digital app use in Marche, Veneto

In the Marche region, people aged over 80 are gradually adopting Poste Italiane’s Super App. Their usage accounts for about 2‑3 % of all app users, with the province of Ancona recording the highest number—around 700 seniors. Similar, modest participation rates are reported in other provincial towns such as Jesi, Senigallia, Fabriano and Osimo, indicating a slow but steady digital shift among the oldest residents.

In the Veneto province of Bassano del Grappa, eight municipalities are extending a digital‑facilitation service called “PALLADES”. Over the past two years more than 16 000 citizens have become comfortable with online public‑administration and private‑sector services, ranging from certificates to bank statements. After earlier PNrr funding ended, each of the eight towns is allocating roughly €3 000 to keep the service running through the end of the year, aiming to further reduce the digital divide for seniors.
