Italian Serie A1 clubs Brescia and Cuneo recruit teenage volleyball standouts
Brescia's Valsabbina Millenium Brescianella announced the signing of 14‑year‑old left‑handed Bulgarian spiker Kalina Veneva. Standing 186 cm, Veneva has won gold at the 2024 U18 European Championship, earned MVP honours at the 2025 Balkan U19 Championship and was named best attacker at the 2025 U19 World Championship. She will join the Italian side for the upcoming Serie A1 season.
Cuneo Granda Volley also secured a new addition, Romanian attacker Bianca Cucu, 13, who is 185 cm tall. Cucu debuted in Romania’s top league at age 12 and played at the U17 European Championship. She said, "Sono onorata ed emozionata di poter giocare a Cuneo" and the club’s presidents praised her crystal‑clear talent and expected swift adaptation to the team.
