Italian suspect linked to double murder in Aigio, Greece

Greek authorities are investigating a double homicide that occurred in the town of Aigio. The main suspect is a 65‑year‑old Italian man who was present in the house at the time of the killings. Police have seized two knives—one found under the victim and another embedded in a pot—and have taken the mobile phones and computers of the victims and the suspect for forensic analysis. No fingerprints were recovered from the examined knife, and investigators are awaiting further results from the devices.

A family friend has highlighted a financial dispute that may have fueled the conflict. The 54‑year‑old victim, Maria Iatropoulou, allegedly received €52,000 from the sale of a property, which she gave to her son instead of the Italian suspect who had paid for the property's renovation. The suspect reportedly confronted her about the money, which intensified tensions in the days leading up to the murders.
