Italian swimmers set records at Rome's Trofeo Sette Colli and complete Capri‑Napoli marathon
The BLM Briantea84 Cantù club competed at the 62nd Trofeo Sette Colli in Rome's Foro Italico pool from 25‑27 June, with Nicolò Mascheroni and Riccardo Magrassi earning multiple medals. Magrassi set three Italian records: silver in the 100 m breaststroke SB7 (1’20’’51) and new bests in the 50 m breaststroke SB7 (37’’96) and the junior 50 m freestyle S7 (31’’14). Coach Ilaria Spadaro praised the experience of racing in the world‑class venue.
In a separate event, the Peppe Lamberti Nuoto Club team – Michelangelo Manzo, Massimiliano Santopietro and Mimmo Scaldaferri – secured third place in the 36 km Capri‑Napoli swim, completing the crossing in 9 hours 8 minutes despite adverse sea conditions. Only five relay teams finished the race, which attracted 30 participants from Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Greece.
