Italian open water swimming competitions

In late June 2026 Italian swimmers broke records at Rome’s Trofeo Sette Colli and completed the Capri‑Napoli marathon. The season then moved to regional open‑water events, with the third edition of the Trofeo Settimio Frangella held in Falconara Albanese, Calabria, as part of the “Calabria Swim Coast to Coast” project and the Super Master circuit. Club rankings were led by AQA Cosenza, and individual titles were awarded to Gabriele Molonia, Viola Bavastrelli, Renata Maria Perretti and Giovanni Mazzuca. By August, the national UNVS open‑water championship took place in Tarquinia, marking the 80th anniversary of the local maritime association and drawing athletes from across Italy. Across these events, organizers highlighted the blend of sport, tourism and community engagement, underscoring the continued growth of open‑water swimming in Italy.
