Italian town lacks €400,000 for school renovation project
In the municipality of Verona, the renovation of the Dante Sauro Spaccini school faces a shortfall of more than €400,000 after the regional authority pledged €2.6 million of the €3 million requested. Councilor Rosanna Pucci highlighted that the remaining funds exceed the regional contribution and must be sourced locally to complete the works.
Separately, the neighboring town of Pioltello approved a new "Right to Study" plan for 2026‑2027, allocating €3.524 million to school spending. The budget includes €435,020 for extraordinary works and €1.840 million for ordinary maintenance, representing a 50% reduction from the previous year as major projects conclude. Both initiatives underscore the financial pressures on Italian local authorities to fund school infrastructure and services.
