Italian towns Ceccano and Senorbì rally to protect local health services

In Ceccano, mayor Andrea Querqui repeated his refusal to dismantle the permanent health centre despite calls from former officials, insisting the community will continue its mobilisation to safeguard services. The Lazio region pledged support, with regional councilor Daniele Maura confirming that from 1 August 2026 a medical presence will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., maintaining all existing facilities such as radiology, mental health, and dental care.

Meanwhile in Senorbì, mayor Alessandro Pireddu highlighted staffing shortages at the local mental‑health centre and demanded immediate regional intervention. The Sardinian regional president Alessandra Todde and councilor Fausto Piga responded with assurances, while the ASL 8 director Alessandro Coni outlined plans to hire additional psychiatrists and rehabilitation technicians, purchase new service vans and expand training programmes. Pireddu said the municipality will closely monitor the situation to ensure continued care for residents.
