Italian towns expand defibrillator network for public cardioprotection

In a public‑health push, an automatic external defibrillator (AED) was donated to the Frank Malone Pub & Brewstore in Italy, where the device was installed during a cardioprotection event on 17 June. The ceremony was led by Dr. Antonio Russo, a national councilor of the Italian Society of Sports Cardiology, and highlighted the role of defibrillators in community venues.

Separately, the municipality of Capannoli installed a new AED near the Galleria Largo Boccaccio, raising the town’s total to 15 devices. The defibrillator was provided by the PSB Association, and the mayor, Arianna Cecchini, praised the collaboration between local administration and civil society in expanding life‑saving equipment across schools, sports facilities and public areas.
