Italian towns hold patron saint festivals, honoring community heritage

In Casaglia, the community celebrated the feast of its patron Saint James on 25 July with a procession, liturgical rites and a communal dinner. The event also marked the dedication of a nearby park to the late parish priest Don Attilio Dal Pra, thirty years after his death, recognizing his six decades of service to the village.

In Trani, the local association Tranensis organized a free children's program called “Sulle Orme del Pellegrino” during the Night of San Nicola on 31 July. The activity invited youngsters to become “little pilgrims” and walk a guided route to three key sites linked to the city’s patron saint: the statue on the harbour, the small chapel of San Nicolino, and the basilica cathedral, fostering awareness of local religious traditions.
