Italian towns honor senior milestones with teacher retirement and 103rd birthday

In Vico Equense, Campania, former primary school teacher Mariella Gargiulo marked her retirement after 35 years of service. A surprise celebration at the La Chiana agriturismo gathered 102 former students and colleagues to pay tribute to her long career.

In Castel San Pietro Terme, Emilia‑Romagna, the municipality celebrated Luciana Berozzi's 103rd birthday at the protected house Coccinella. Welfare assessor Katia Raspanti presented a bouquet and a congratulatory letter, highlighting Berozzi's life as a seamstress, mother and grandmother.

Both events reflected local community appreciation for elderly residents who have significantly contributed to their towns over decades.
