Italian towns host free diabetes and nutrition screening events

On Saturday 20 June 2026, the Lions Club Larino organised a free diabetes‑screening day in Montorio nei Frentani, Molise. The event, held in the municipal council chamber from 09:30 to 12:30, offered glucose tests conducted by Dr Marco Tagliaferri and Dr Maria Tartaglia, supported by local volunteers and the NASP Molise health service.

In Limbadi, Calabria, a free dietetic‑nutritional screening was held at the AVIS municipal headquarters. Blood‑donors were measured for anthropometric parameters and received personalised advice from Dr Angela Maiolo and other health professionals. The initiative was backed by the local AVIS board, the municipal councilor for the third sector, and the director of internal medicine at the regional health authority.

Both events were community‑driven health‑prevention projects, aiming to detect early risk factors for chronic diseases and to promote healthier lifestyles among residents.
