Italian towns host public events on education and regional identity

In the town of Roccavivara, the public meeting “La Scuola Pubblica ha ancora Valore?” took place on 18 July, featuring Eugenia Carfora, director of the Francesco Morano Institute in Caivano, as a leading speaker. The event highlighted the role of public schools in democracy, inclusion, and legality, with opening remarks from the mayor and contributions from other school directors and a university professor.

On 20 July in Mosciano Sant'Angelo, the municipality organized a round‑table titled “Identità e Nazione in Abruzzo tra Settecento e Ottocento.” The discussion, supported by the Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta, brought together scholars, the bishop of Teramo‑Atri, and local officials to explore the formation of Abruzzese identity between the 18th and 19th centuries. The event was part of the town’s summer cultural program and emphasized historical research and community engagement.
