Italian towns mobilize emergency crews after severe storm

The heavy rainstorm that swept central Italy prompted an intensive emergency response. In the Perugia province, the local fire department carried out more than 20 completed interventions to clear fallen trees and vegetation from roads, with around 40 additional calls pending. No injuries were reported.

In the town of Argenta, mayor Andrea Baldini issued a 10‑day ordinance authorising urgent work on dangerous trees and vegetation affected by the same storm. The decree permits the removal, pruning and cutting of unstable trunks and roots in public and private areas to restore safety and normal traffic flow.
