Italian towns roll out marine education programs for children

The new Acquario di Livorno celebrated its 16th anniversary with a weekend of family‑focused activities, including the "I cuccioli del mare" animation for children and a limited‑attendance experience that lets ten participants witness the feeding of the green turtles Ari and Cuba.

In Sant’Agnello, the municipality launched the "I Custodi del Mare" project, a series of four beach‑based workshops and storytelling sessions for kids. Organized with the Barattoli Cosmici association, the programme runs from early August through late August, featuring beach walks, creative crafts, and animated readings aimed at fostering respect for the marine environment.
