Italian towns roll out PNRC‑funded social inclusion programmes for disabled and youth

In Seregno, Lombardy, a newly confiscated apartment building was transformed into a social‑housing project for people with disabilities. The initiative, financed with €3.056 million from Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, is run by the cooperative L’Aliante and supported by local authorities, including Mayor Alberto Rossi who said, “This place is coming back to life.”

In Campobasso, Molise, the municipal social‑policy office partnered with the cultural association ACT and the Educommunity centre to run a six‑session empathy‑writing laboratory for young people aged 11‑25. Coordinated by writer Gianmarco Galuppo and youth worker Massimiliano Muzio, the programme aimed to combat social isolation through collaborative writing, concluding with a public reading of the participants’ work.
