Italian towns roll out summer pest‑control campaigns in Modena and Sabaudia

The municipality of Modena is holding a series of public meetings in July to inform residents about mosquito‑borne disease surveillance and larvicidal treatments under the regional arbovirus control plan. Officials will explain actions such as larvicide applications to public drains, monitoring with ovitraps, and guidelines for citizens to remove standing water on private property.

In the coastal town of Sabaudia, the local health department has scheduled two-weekly cycles of pest‑control work from 6‑10 July and 20‑24 July. The program targets rodents, mosquitoes and cockroaches, with treatments planned for the urban perimeter, several villages and municipal consortia. All products used are authorised by the Ministry of Health and are described as a new generation of environmental‑friendly agents.
