Italian Treasury reshapes June 2026 bond auctions, cancels most BTP offerings

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that on Wednesday 10 June 2026 a Treasury bill (BOT) will be auctioned with an €8.5 billion offer, issued on 12 June and maturing on 14 June 2027. No quarterly BOT will be offered due to an absence of cash‑raising needs.

The following day, 11 June 2026, the regular medium‑ and long‑term BTP auction will be largely cancelled. Only a 3‑year BTP (maturing 15 Sept 2029, 3% coupon) remains on the agenda. All instruments with ten‑year or longer maturities are being replaced by two syndicate‑placed issuances: a 7‑year BTP due 15 June 2033 and a 30‑year BTP due 1 Oct 2055. The syndicate will involve banks such as Banco Santander, BNP Paribas, BofA Securities Europe, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley Europe. The Treasury also outlined the remaining June auction calendar, including a short‑term BTP auction on 24 June and further BOT and medium‑long‑term auctions later in the month.
