Manuela Moreno to host Rai 1's summer 'La Vita in Diretta

Manuela Moreno, veteran Rai journalist, will take over the daytime programme “La Vita in Diretta” for the summer schedule on Rai 1. Her debut is set for Monday 29 June 2026, with the show airing Monday‑Friday from 16:10 to 18:40, replacing Alberto Matano until his return on 7 September. Moreno will present solo, steering the broadcast through “the 50 shades of news” – hard, soft and entertainment stories – and will give special attention to women‑related topics such as gender‑gap issues and femicide.

Moreno’s career spans three decades at Rai, including roles on TG2, TG2 Post, Filorosso and international reporting from major events. She says television is “in good health” but must modernise without merely mimicking social‑media language, aiming to deepen coverage rather than chase viral formats. The summer edition will retain the long‑running brand while introducing a renewed studio and a more conversational “living‑room” atmosphere for the Italian afternoon audience.
