Italian unions demand contract renewals for 300,000 private healthcare workers

Italian labor unions Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp, and Uil Fp have criticized the PA Decree for failing to address the contractual and economic needs of approximately 300,000 workers in the private healthcare and RSA (residential care) sectors.

The unions argue that the decree lacks clear constraints for private facilities that receive public funding to perform public health services. They are calling for a link between the allocation of public resources and the renewal of national collective labor agreements (CCNL), noting that contracts in the private healthcare sector have been expired for eight years, while those in RSAs have been expired for 14 years.

Union leaders Federico Bozzanca, Roberto Chierchia, and Rita Longobardi stated that the absence of these measures places responsibility on the Ministry of Health, the Conference of Regions, and the national government to ensure that those caring for the elderly and vulnerable populations receive proper recognition.
