Italian universities announce new academic admission procedures
Several Italian universities have announced updates regarding academic admissions for the 2026/27 period.
The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (unibz) has opened an extraordinary application session running from August 18 to September 4. This window allows students to apply for 14 bachelor's degrees and 10 master's degrees across faculties including Engineering, Economics, Design and Arts, Education Sciences, and Agricultural, Environmental and Food Sciences. Applicants must demonstrate B2 level proficiency in at least two of the university's three teaching languages: German, Italian, and English.
At the University of Palermo, the second edition of the 'filter semester' for medical school entry is commencing. Following the receipt of 2,223 applications, online classes are scheduled to begin on September 1 and run through late November. This new access model for Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine requires students to pass exams in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to secure definitive enrollment. Results for the first exam session are expected in late December.
