Italian University Athletics Championships Highlight New National and Regional Winners

The Italian University Championships were held in Novara, with athletes from various CUS clubs competing across track and field events. Ilaria Contran won the women's 100 metres in 11.79 seconds, ahead of Agnese Musica and Beatrice Visconti. Francesca Orfei took the 200 metres title in 24.01, while Lucia Cantergiani claimed gold in the 400 metres (54.37) with Giuditta Ponsicci (silver) and Agata D’Angelo (bronze). At the regional junior level in Busto Arsizio, Giulia Macchi of Gallarate won the under‑20 400 metres with a personal best of 53.15 seconds, the third‑fastest U20 time in Italian history, and posted a 2:05.26 personal best in the 800 metres, meeting the World Junior qualifying standard. Elia Ferrari captured the 100 metre sprint (10.76 s) for CUS Insubria, and OSA Saronno’s men’s 4 × 100 m relay team took gold.
