Italian water utilities schedule maintenance disrupting supply in Alghero and Como
In Alghero, the municipal water provider Abbanoa will suspend water service on 8 July from 08:00 to 20:00 while technicians replace an old pipeline as part of a €7.2 million EU‑funded network upgrade. The work affects streets such as Via Grazia Deledda, Via Leonardo Da Vinci and several others, with an investment of €3.74 million for this first lot. Residents may experience pressure drops, temporary turbidity and will be urged to report any issues via the 24‑hour hotline.
In Como, the utility Como Acqua announced extraordinary maintenance of the oxidation tanks at the city's wastewater treatment plant, scheduled from 30 July to 28 August. To ensure safety, parking will be prohibited along a 250‑metre stretch of Viale Regina, and the area may experience stronger odours during the works. The operation is described as essential for maintaining the plant’s biological treatment efficiency and compliance with environmental standards.
