Italian wine and golf events highlight regional traditions

The Golf Club Camuzzago recently hosted a stage of the Golf Around Challenge, a Stableford competition featuring various player categories. The event was supported by Cantine Vitea, a family-owned winery from Montù Beccaria with roots dating back to 1895. Owner Antonio Faravelli noted the winery's focus on traditional Oltrepò Pavese varietals and highlighted a historical connection to composer Giacomo Puccini.

In regional viticulture news, the Fonte del Bosco 2024 label from Cantina di Monte Vibiano has been named one of the 50 ‘rare wines’ in the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2027 guide. This pure Trebbiano is the only selection from the Umbria region in this elite category. The winery, owned by the Fasola Bologna family, is recognized for its commitment to sustainability, having previously achieved certification for zero CO2 emissions.
