Italian women celebrate major longevity milestones
Two Italian women are celebrating extraordinary milestones of longevity. In Frigintini, Modica, Maria Cavallo, known as Marietta, has reached the age of 100. The Mayor of Modica, Maria Monisteri, honored her for a life dedicated to family and agriculture, noting her history of working with carob and olive harvests. Marietta attributes her long life to a rural lifestyle and a diet of natural, homegrown products.
In Comacchio, Lina Masetti is celebrating her 107th birthday. Mayor Samuele Bellotti visited her, describing her as being in excellent form with a remarkable ability to communicate. Masetti, originally from Bologna, credits her longevity to avoiding strict diets or excessive supplements, maintaining hard work until age 60, and eventually traveling the world.
