Italian workers show 55% confidence in supplementary pensions
According to the 7th Aggiornamento Assogestioni-Censis report, 55% of Italian workers express confidence in supplementary pension schemes as a tool to integrate their primary pensions. The report highlights a growing interest in the flexibility offered by the 2026 Budget Law reforms.
Workers have expressed preferences regarding new payout options: 49.5% favor freely determinable withdrawals, 38.7% prefer fixed-term annuities, and 11.8% opt for fractional capital distribution. The first two methods are scheduled to become operational on July 1, 2026, while fractional distribution will take effect on October 31 with different tax treatments.
Among workers aged 18 to 50, 86.8% favor the ability to choose how they receive pension benefits. While awareness of the new regulatory changes is increasing—rising 17 percentage points since March 2026—the report notes that 56.2% of interviewed workers still state they are not aware of the specific changes introduced by the reform.
