Italian Youth Projects Revitalize Recanati and Portomaggiore

The fifth edition of the regional youth initiative “Ci Sto? Affare Fatica!” concluded in Recanati, a town in the Marche region. Thirty participants, organized in three teams, spent three weeks repainting and repairing public furniture, renovating book‑crossing kiosks and improving communal spaces such as the garden “Parole interrotte” and the atrium of the municipal palace. The project, funded by the Regione Marche youth policy programme and the national Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, also provided vouchers worth €75 for the youths and €150 for their tutors.

In the Emilia‑Romagna provinces of Portomaggiore and Argenta, the “Giovani in Rete” programme engaged 18 students between March and May. The initiative, backed by a regional grant, combined classroom‑based activities with group workshops at local volunteer centres. Participants reported improved civic awareness, teamwork and empathy, and the project will continue in a second phase after schools resume in September, strengthening cooperation between municipalities, schools and third‑sector organisations.
