Italy: 3-year-old boy dies after being struck by vehicle

A 3-year-old boy, Yahya Mohammadi, has died in a hospital in Padova after being struck by a car in via Boschieri. The incident occurred on a Wednesday evening when the child reportedly moved away from his mother near pedestrian crossings.

The driver, a 21-year-old from Onigo di Pederobbico, is currently under investigation for road homicide. A kinematic analysis is expected to determine if the collision could have been avoided. The driver tested negative for alcohol during a breathalyzer test.

The Mohammadi family, originally from Piacenza, was visiting relatives in the Veneto region at the time of the accident. Local community members have initiated a solidarity fund to support the family.
