Italy adds new skateparks in Turin and Budrio
Construction has begun on a large‑scale skatepark in Turin’s Parco Dora. The "park"‑type facility, modeled on American designs, features a big bowl, metal tubes and a smooth concrete surface. Work started on 16 June with the main ramps expected by late August 2027 and an opening in spring 2027.
In Budrio, the Sherwood Skatepark opened within the Guya Park, emphasizing zero impact on existing flora. Built from reinforced coloured concrete, it includes benches, bike racks and a service building. The €361,901 project was funded through the Periferie grant and aims to combine sport, youth engagement and environmental preservation. Mayor Debora Badiali said, "We chose to invest in a space that promotes sport, sociality and well‑being without giving up environmental protection."
