Italy advances regional disability inclusion projects

The Partecip‑Azione initiative, a three‑year programme funded by the Lombardy Regional Programme of the European Social Fund Plus, aims to create an ecosystem for the socio‑work inclusion of people with motor disabilities in the Metropolitan City of Milan. The partnership of Spazio Vita Niguarda, IPIS, Fondazione ENAIP Lombardia and Fondazione ASPHI provides multidisciplinary support, digital‑skill labs, accessible gaming, personalised orientation and apprenticeships with local companies, seeking to transform employment into a pathway to autonomy.

In the Province of Macerata, officials gathered to review progress on a long‑awaited centre for severe disabilities and autism. Province President Alessandro Gentilucci, Mayor Fabrizio Ciarapica and Urban Planning Assessor Roberta Belletti confirmed that the project, eight years in planning, will deliver a strategic infrastructure for the most vulnerable families. Ciarapica said, “Il Centro per le Disabilità Gravi rappresenta una risposta concreta ai bisogni delle persone più fragili e delle loro famiglie,” while Belletti highlighted the extensive technical work behind the scenes and pledged continued institutional support.
