Italy allocates 631 million euros for automotive research and innovation

The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has announced 631 million euros in funding for the automotive supply chain to support industrial research and experimental development. The funds, managed by Mediocredito Centrale, aim to boost competitiveness and facilitate the transition to advanced technologies, including potential dual-use applications. The online application window is scheduled to open on November 25. Notably, 40% of these resources are reserved for projects conducted entirely in Italy's southern regions, including Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Puglia, Sardinia, and Sicily.

In separate industrial developments, the National Strategic Pole (PSN) has secured a 231 million euro financing package to expand its sovereign cloud infrastructure. Additionally, discussions continue regarding the revitalization of the Aeffe fashion group, with an Oxy Capital proposal of approximately 115 million euros involving Invitalia and a Chinese partner to protect over 700 jobs. Meanwhile, meetings were held at the Ministry to monitor the industrial relaunch and decarbonization of the AST Terni steel plant, focusing on energy costs and hydroelectric resources.
