Italy allocates over 60 million euros for circular economy projects

Italian companies investing in waste reduction and material reuse can access over 60 million euros in non-repayable public grants through various regional and national circular economy programs.

Key regional measures include the ‘Step Clean Tech’ program in Piemonte, which allocates 40 million euros to research and development in circular production. In Toscana, the ‘Economia Circolare Privati’ initiative, managed by Sviluppo Toscana S.p.A., provides 15 million euros with subsidies covering up to 80% of costs for internal waste treatment plants. Lombardia is also offering funding of up to 60% for eco-design and waste management in sectors such as rubber, plastic, and textiles.

Additionally, the national program from Mimit aims to support SMEs and businesses in southern Italy, focusing on innovative and sustainable investments to modify production processes and increase the use of recycled materials.
