Italy and Tunisia strengthen innovation ties in energy and AI

The third edition of the Innovation Talks, organized by the Italian Embassy in Tunis and Terna Innovation Zone, focused on strengthening ties between the Italian and Tunisian innovation ecosystems. The discussions centered on developing new solutions for energy efficiency, industrial monitoring, and artificial intelligence.

Participants included Nicandro Buono of eMomentum and Dhaker Hadded of Orbit Engineering Solutions, discussing how AI and new technologies can optimize energy consumption and industrial maintenance. The event took place at the Terna Innovation Zone Tunisia, which was inaugurated in January 2025 as the first Terna Innovation Zone in Africa to support startups and digital transition.

Italian Ambassador Alessandro Prunas noted that synergies between the two nations are key to addressing industrial optimization and energy challenges. This initiative is part of a broader energy partnership, including the Elmed subsea electrical interconnection project.
