Italy-Tunisia innovation and technology partnership

Overview

Italy and Tunisia are expanding their bilateral cooperation through various innovation and technology initiatives. Early efforts focused on the third edition of the Innovation Talks, which aimed to strengthen ties between the two nations' innovation ecosystems. These discussions specifically addressed energy efficiency, industrial monitoring, and the application of artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption.

This cooperation has since extended to broader digital platforms, such as the Big Tech Africa summit in Tunis. Through the Italian Innovation Hub, Italian officials are seeking to move partnerships beyond traditional sectors like manufacturing and textiles toward high-skill areas. Ambassador Alessandro Prunas has emphasized that Tunisia’s intellectual capacity and startup ecosystem present significant opportunities for bilateral exchange and technological collaboration.
