Italy and Turkey advance stadium preparations for EURO 2032
Italy and Turkey are progressing with their joint bid to host UEFA EURO 2032, though the two nations face different challenges regarding stadium infrastructure.
In Italy, the FIGC has begun reviewing dossiers from 13 cities involving 16 different stadiums. The goal is to select five venues to propose to UEFA by October 1. Many of these Italian facilities require significant upgrades or face complex administrative and bureaucratic hurdles to meet UEFA standards.
In contrast, Turkey has significantly expanded its sports infrastructure, having built 38 new stadiums during the presidency of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey has proposed ten potential host cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Bursa. The final selection of five stadiums from each country is expected to be finalized by October 2026.
