Italy animal welfare: dogs rescued in Corropoli and Torino
Authorities in Italy have intervened in two separate cases of animal neglect. In Corropoli, the Carabinieri and ASL Teramo technicians reported a woman to the authorities following the discovery of four mixed-breed dogs kept in inadequate conditions. One dog was found in an uninhabited area of a property, surrounded by waste and refuse. The investigation also revealed that none of the four animals possessed the legally required microchips.
In Torino, a nine-year-old Chihuahua named Cicci was rescued after being kept in a dark, cramped storage room in a condominium courtyard. According to reports from Lav, the dog was reportedly confined to the small space without adequate water or light, allegedly as punishment for urinating inside the home. The dog has since been secured and is seeking a new home.
