Italy announces bocce squad for 2026 Mediterranean Games

Twelve athletes have been selected to represent Italy in the bocce competitions at the 2026 Mediterranean Games. The event is scheduled to take place from August 22 to August 25 at the Montemesola Sports Hall.

The competition will feature three specific disciplines: raffa, petanque, and volo. The Italian squad is evenly divided by gender and specialty. The petanque team includes Andrea Chiapello, Sara Ferrera, Donatella Greco, and Diego Rizzi. The raffa team consists of Kety Crescenzi, Alfonso Nanni, Laura Picchio, and Luca Viscusi. The volo team features Marika Depetris, Gaia Gamba, Matteo Mana, and Diego Verganti.

Qualifying rounds for all disciplines will occur on August 22 and 23, with the first bronze medal finals scheduled for Monday, August 24. All twelve titles, covering both men’s and women’s categories across singles, doubles, and precision shooting, will be awarded on August 25.
