Italy arrests foreign nationals after sexual assault attempts in Napoli and Savona
In Napoli, three young men of African origin were arrested after they attempted to molest a woman attending the final Napoli Pride concert. Police intervened, the suspects resisted, and four officers were injured before being taken to hospital. The men – a 23‑year‑old from Chad, a 23‑year‑old from Ivory Coast and a 22‑year‑old from Benin – were charged with resisting arrest and causing injury to public officials.
Separately, on a beach near Savona, three Moroccan men aged 29, 27 and 23 were detained following a robbery and an attempted sexual assault on a couple. The male victim was struck with a stick and robbed of cash while defending his partner. Both incidents resulted in police arrests and the suspects were transferred to the Genova Pontedecimo prison pending further judicial proceedings.
