Italy's Revenue Agency to recruit 1,022 permanent staff

A decree dated 2 July 2026 authorises the Agenzia delle Entrate to hire 1,022 new employees on permanent contracts. The recruitment covers assistants (requiring a secondary‑school diploma), functionaries (requiring a university degree) and managers (degree plus professional experience). The positions will be placed throughout Italy to reinforce tax collection, cadastral services and digital assistance to taxpayers.

A separate competition for 335 assistant roles has also been authorised, as part of a three‑year plan that foresees about 3,900 new hires for the agency between 2026 and 2028. The 1,208 assistant posts slated for the period will see 808 filled in 2026, of which 335 will be recruited through the upcoming contest. The hiring drive aims at generational renewal and strengthening the agency’s capacity to combat tax evasion.

Candidate applications will be submitted electronically via the public‑sector recruitment portal (Portale in PA) once the official calls are published. General eligibility criteria include Italian or EU citizenship, civil‑rights compliance, physical suitability and no prior dismissal from public office.
