Italy basketball teams hold Folgaria training camp ahead of World Cup qualifiers

The Italian men’s and women’s national basketball teams gathered at a training camp in Folgaria, Trentino, from 10 to 31 August. Technical commissioner Luca Banchi announced a 16‑player roster that includes Matteo Spagnolo, Nico Mannion, Simone Fontecchio and others, with eight additional athletes invited to train. The camp will also host the Trentino Basket Cup, where Italy faces Estonia on 22 August in Trento.

Italy’s next World Cup qualifying matches are scheduled for 28 August against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Tuzla and 31 August against Serbia in Pesaro. The women’s side, coached by Andrea Capobianco, will play a friendly against China in Trento on 21 August and will later compete at the Women’s World Cup in Berlin from 4 to 13 September.
