Italy rolls out regional support for 2026 Disability Reform
From 17 July 2026, Formez PA, the public‑administration training body of the Italian government, began assisting the regions of Lazio, Puglia and Abruzzo in applying the Disability Reform 2026. The programme offers training, tools and new competency models for public‑service workers, caregivers and third‑sector representatives, aiming to qualify at least 0.1 % of the provincial population in the pilot areas.
In a related meeting, regional disability guarantor Anna Teresa Formisano met with Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli to discuss resources for families, the use of the disability card and the implementation of Law 68 on hiring protected categories in the public sector. The two officials agreed to continue dialogue in September.
Separately, Senator Giusy Versace introduced the IN‑EXON inflatable exoskeleton, the world’s first lightweight (1.2 kg) device that lets people with spinal injuries move in water and stand upright. Developed by engineer Francesco Boscarino, the prototype is being promoted for inclusion in the national health service catalogue.
