Italy: Beneficiaries identified for Carta Dedicata a te support
The Italian government has confirmed the distribution of the “Carta dedicata a te” for the 2026/2027 period, a measure designed to assist families facing economic hardship. The program provides 500 euros per year to eligible households to purchase essential food items, fuel, or local public transport subscriptions.
In Bari, 3,154 families have been identified by INPS as beneficiaries. Starting November 9, 2026, communications will be delivered to residents, and those who are new beneficiaries must collect their cards at post offices using their identification and reference codes. Existing cardholders can use their current cards directly.
In Oristano, 443 families are receiving the benefit. Local social services noted that the aid is intended for households with an ISEE not exceeding 15,000 euros. While the funds provide relief for essential goods, officials noted that the measure does not eliminate poverty. Data indicates significant economic challenges in the region, with a large portion of taxpayers reporting annual incomes below the national average.
