Italy celebrates literary milestones with book industry report and library events

The Associazione Librai Italiani (Ali) is marking its 80th anniversary with the 'Stati Generali delle Librerie' in Rome. The event, held at the Museo Nazionale Romano di Palazzo Altemps, will feature the release of the first Ali Report on Italian bookstores. Conducted by the Istituto G. Tagliacarne and curated by Alessandro Rinaldi, the report provides a detailed analysis of the national book system, including its economic characteristics, territorial distribution, and market transformations.

In conjunction with these industry discussions, the Rome Library Institution is launching 'Geografie di lettura. Le biblioteche degli autori' to commemorate its 30th anniversary. This eight-part series, beginning October 15, features prominent Italian authors and actors visiting various city libraries. The program aims to highlight the role of libraries as tools for social inclusion and cultural growth, utilizing locations such as the recently renovated Biblioteca Cornelia.
