Italy community initiatives focus on autism support

Various community initiatives in Italy are focusing on providing support and awareness for autism. In Buseto Palizzolo, the fourth edition of the #IOSONOIO Festival is scheduled for August 23. Organized by the association ‘Io Barcollo ma non MOLLO!’, the event aims to highlight the reality of autism through a day of shared joy, including circus performances, traditional games, and musical acts.

In Forlì, the ‘Un caffè alla volta’ project has launched to create informal meeting spaces for parents of children and adolescents with autism. Managed by the Neuropsichiatria Infanzia e Adolescenza (NPIA) of Forlì – Cesena, the initiative seeks to build spontaneous support networks among families. Local data indicates a significant increase in diagnoses, with 700 cases recorded in the Forlì-Cesena province as of late 2025.
