Italy confirms open‑semester admissions for medical and veterinary courses in 2026‑27

The Italian Ministry of University and Research issued Decree No. 941 on 10 July 2026, confirming that the open‑semester system for admission to single‑cycle degree programmes in Medicine, Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Veterinary Medicine will be used for the 2026‑27 academic year. Applications can be submitted through the Universitaly platform until 3 August, with the enrollment fee due by 6 August. Candidates will be evaluated on three university exams – Biology, Chemistry (including biochemistry) and Physics – each worth six university credits, replacing the previous single entrance test. Separately, the Censis 2026‑27 university ranking placed the University College of Business and Management (UCBM) second among small non‑state institutions with a score of 92.4 points, overtaking Roma Europea. UCBM’s rise reflects gains across several categories, including student services and research funding.
