Italy secures multiple wins in Volleyball Nations League 2026
Italy’s national volleyball squads are enjoying a strong run in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. The women’s team travelled to Pasig City, Manila, for week 2 of the competition, facing the Czech Republic on 17 June, Serbia on 18 June, the United States on 20 June and Japan on 21 June, with all matches broadcast live on DAZN.
In the opening week of the men’s VNL in Ottawa, Italy defeated Germany 3‑1 and then overcame Turkey 3‑0, with outside hitter Francesco Sani delivering a 16‑point top‑scorer performance. The side continued its momentum by edging the United States 3‑2 in a five‑set thriller, highlighted by a 23‑point effort from Luca Porro. Coach Ferdinando De Giorgi praised the squad’s depth and the players’ ability to execute under pressure.
