Italy establishes electoral lists for out-of-residence voters
Municipalities in Italy, including Robbio and Urbino, have initiated the establishment of electoral lists for out-of-residence voters. This allows individuals temporarily domiciled in a different region from their place of residence to exercise their right to vote in political elections, European Parliament elections, and constitutional referendums.
Eligibility is based on specific criteria: individuals studying or working away from home for at least nine months, patients receiving medical care for at least three months, and caregivers or parents accompanying minors receiving medical assistance in a different region for at least three months.
Registration deadlines vary based on circumstances. Those already studying or working away must apply by December 31st of each year for the following year's elections. For those whose circumstances change after December 31st, applications must be submitted within 30 days of meeting the requirements, but no later than 45 days before an election. For medical and caregiving reasons, applications must be submitted no later than 45 days before the consultation. Registrations must be renewed annually.
