Italy expands electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Various Italian municipalities and regional health authorities are expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to promote sustainable mobility and the ecological transition.

In Montefiascone, the local administration has approved the identification of 11 strategic public areas for the installation of new charging stations. These locations include the upper square of the Basilica of San Flaviano, the Zepponami railway station area, sports facilities, and lakeside parking zones. The initiative follows requests from private companies interested in placing infrastructure on municipal land.

In the Emilia-Romagna region, new public charging points will be installed at the Sant’Anna Hospital in Cona and the Cittadella San Rocco in Ferrara. This project is part of the Regional FESR Program 2021-2027. The Hera Group has been granted the concession to manage charging infrastructure at the Ferrara University Hospital, while the Edison Group will manage infrastructure at the Ferrara Local Health Unit (AUSL).
