Campi Bisenzio implements social housing initiatives

Local authorities in Campi Bisenzio are implementing various housing initiatives to address rising poverty and eviction rates. The municipality is focusing on social housing (Ers) to support the 'grey zone'—working individuals who earn sufficient income but cannot afford market-rate real estate. This includes targeting law enforcement officers, justice sector personnel, and other workers facing housing instability.

Specific projects include the recovery of public buildings for social purposes, such as an old hydraulic station being repurposed for emergency housing and a 'Housing First' project. Additionally, the administration has assigned 62 public housing (Erp) units over the last two years and has requested a temporary moratorium on evictions from the Prefecture. Other local efforts include converting unfinished buildings into 17 social housing units.
